Toques in Tennessee

Yes, it's that cold - people are wearing toques down south! The surface of the outdoor swimming pool had frosted over. We rolled into New Orleans this afternoon, where at least you can't see your breath. We were pretty grotty from being on the road for four days, so we got decent and went to the French Quarter for some R&R (rhythm and ribs).

It was quite an experience; a quirky cross between Las Vegas and Niagara Falls, but with prettier architecture. Some hustling going on, and an ever-present 'sex is in the air' feeling. Anything goes here, it seems. People of all kinds, ambling from bar to bar, checking out the various bands. A memorable musical moment was a unique street performer we met. 'Bucket Man' gave us a private performance right around the corner from Bourbon Street. Apparently he's on You Tube. Gotta check that guy out when we get home. Don't worry, Mom and Dad, we behaved ourselves, and got home at a very respectable hour. (Mostly owing to the fact that we're still somewhat fatigued from the drive.)

Snowy Chloe

Our dog walks have become a winter wonderland. I'm leaving the coat and boots behind today. So is David. I think I have butterflies in my stomach, but I don't remember eating them.
